Q: This package seems to be task- type package. However task- packages
were dropped. So this one should probably be dropped too!
A: It would be ideal if you could "just" install a bunch of packages and
have good Java development environment. Unfortunatelly it is not that
easy to get all the free Java tools working together - consistently
  and according to the standards.
The less this package contains the better! However when you install
this package - I promise to you to keep the environment created by it
in best state I can (by eventually using wrappers and other stuff
where it is needed when options/capabilities of original programs
  change/appear to be insufficient).

Q: You're restricting users to use only the tools you wanted them to
  use!
A: No, I am not. Everyone is free to use any free tools he wants. I only
want to provide one of possible Java development environments.
Environment that is the best - in my personal opinion.

Q: Why don't just use kaffe? It has all the tools you have here.
A: Kaffe is (unfortunatelly?) GPL and it's libs are GPL also. It makes
it legaly questionable to use it (even at runtime) with any
GPL-incompatible software. In this package I want to have software
that could be used with any DFSG-compatible software.

Q: What criteria you used while choosing which software to gather here?
A: I wanted to be able to compile and use (w/o possible legal problems)
  any DFSG-compatible software. That's why I preferred JVMs and/or
class libraries that are not GPL, but compatilbe with GPL. I was
looking for free replacements for tools commonly found in commercial
Java SDKs. They are sometimes not ideal - I know.

Q: I think you should use XYZ intead of ABC you're using now.
A: If you found some software that:
  * is technically better than currently used in this package,
  * is free (DFSG-compatible) and non-dependant on non-free stuff
  * brings no legal problems (no GPL classpaths/JVMs, but tools _can_ be GPL)
then plese tell me! I want to have best available free tool here!

Q: I still don't think you're right creating and maintaining this package.
A: Don't use it then...
