StarterBar
==========

This version of StarterBar includes PyXDG 0.8 from freedesktop.org. Please see
the files in the "pyxdg" directory for details.

Introduction
------------
The 'StarterBar' is a panel for GNOME where you can put starters into. Your
GNOME menu contains lots of starters.

Requirements
------------
  'StarterBar' requires to run:

   * Python bindings for gnome-vfs (usually called gnome-python2-gnomevfs)

   * the starter editor that comes with the gnome-panel

Adding Starters
---------------
There are two ways to add new starters:

   * Select "New starter..." in the popup menu

   * Drag and drop starters from the GNOME menu, the panel or the filemanager
     onto the bar

You can only use starters of type "application" at the moment.

Popup Menu
----------
The popup menu provides the following entries:

   * New starter... Opens a dialog where you can create a new starter.

   * Edit starter... Opens a dialog where you can edit a starter.

   * Remove starter... Removes the currently highlighted starter.

Moving Starters
---------------
You can change the positions of starters in the bar by dragging and moving
  them.

Configuration
-------------
The configuration dialog provides the following settings:

   * Orientation The orientation of the bar (for the left, right, top
and bottom corners of the screen).

   * Zoom The size of the bar in percents. You can use a lower
value if you don't have much space on your desktop.

   * Show animations Check this box if you want to see animations.

   * Stretch panel Check this box if you want the panel to be stretched
to fit the icon zoom animation.

   * Caption Font The font that is used for icon captions.

   * Caption Color The color that is used for icon captions.

   * Background The background image of the bar. Use a transparent
image to get a transparent bar.

   * Foreground The foreground image of the bar. This is usually
                          unset.

Have fun,
