TeXfamily -- TeXes based on TeX 3.14159 / teTeX 1.0.X
(2000 Apr)

This directory contains
1) source for JTeX (Japanese TeX, NTT JTeX)
2) source for MuLTeX (Multi-Lingual TeX, experimental - mainly for CJK for now)
(The original source will be found in
	ftp://ftp.math.s.chiba-u.ac.jp/tex/texfam-1.2/
)

NOTE: Sorry, not all documents found in the source of JTeX and MuLTeX
are written in English.

Please ftp the following files.
(Files listed in 0 may not be found in this directory.
You will find them (or their equivalents) in CTAN archive.)

0) the original source of TeX based on teTeX 1.0:
	teTeX-src-1.0.7.tar.gz, teTeX-texmf-1.0.2.tar.gz
if you need to make LaTeX 2.09:
	texfam-texmf-latex209.tar.gz
1) further:
	texfam-1.2.tar.gz
2) to make JTeX, 1) and:
	web2c-j1.9.tar.gz, texfam-texmf-j1.9.tar.gz
3) to make MuLTeX, 2) and:
	web2c-m0.8.tar.gz, texfam-texmf-m0.8.tar.gz
to print or preview:
	mulfonts-vf.tar.gz, mulfonts-subtfm.tar.gz
	mulfonts-300.tar.gz OR mulfonts-600.tar.gz
(300/600 specifies the resolution of your printer)
and the following file in the parent directory:
	dvi2dvi-1.1.tar.gz
(For the explanation of the fonts necessary for printing and prevewing,
read the document for installation which is obtained by the following
unpacking procedure. You can print and preview without dvi driver
which is specialized for the 2-byte fonts such as Japanese, that is,
with dvi dirver that you use for the dvi generated by original TeX.)

mulfonts-NNN.tar.gz mentioned above can be generated by the tool in:
	mulfonts-0.6.tar.gz
Therefore, you can generate fonts (glyph) in case the resolution of
your printer is neither 300 nor 600.

To install, unpack
	teTeX-src-1.0.7.tar.gz, texfam-1.2.tar.gz
and read README-tf found in the directory teTeX-1.0/texk.
Some of the files in the original teTeX-1.0/texk is overwritten by
unpacking texfam-1.2.tar.gz, but the original files are in the directory
orig.
	configure.in configure Makefile.in
	kpathsea/configure.in	kpathsea/configure	kpathsea/Makefile.in
	kpathsea/texmf.in
	web2c/Makefile.in

TeXfamily is designed as an add-on package to teTeX-1.0.X, but the files
installed are easily separated from the teTeX files. So, it will cause
no trouble when you update teTeX.
